CLARK FREEPORT --- The chairman of the board of the Guam International Airport was impressed by the developments at the 2,367 hectares Clark Civil Aviation Complex saying that “the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) has the potential to become the Premier International Gateway of the Philippines.”
“You have incredible developments here. I am very impressed of what I have seen in your airport,” said Martin Gerber chairman of the Board of the Guam International Airport who made a visit on Thursday at the Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) Corporate Office.
CIAC President and CEO Victor Jose I. Luciano together with Executive Vice President and COO Alexander Cauguiran, Vice President for Operations Romeo Dyoco and Vice President for Administration, Finance Lauro Ortile and Captain Ben Solis of the Asia Foundation welcomed Gerber at the CIAC Boardroom and briefed him with the various on-going developments at DMIA.
Luciano told Gerber about the various developments taking place at DMIA such as the construction of the DMIA Terminal 2 and the expansion of the Terminal 1 to accommodate the influx of passengers in the coming years.
Luciano said DMIA caters to international and domestic flights being operated by foreign and local carriers flying out of the Clark Freeport.
He also informed Gerber that Spirit of Manila Airlines and Zest Air will soon fly out of Clark to various destinations in the South East Asian Region and the Middle East. DMIA also hosts other air carriers such as Asiana Airlines, Tiger Airways, Air Asia, Cebu Pacific Air and South East Asian Airlines (Seair) all flying out of Clark.
Gerber told Luciano that he was very much impressed by the developments taking place at DMIA after a brief tour at the DMIA Terminal 1.
“Your airport (DMIA) has the potential to become the Premier International Gateway of the Philippines, for what I have seen here it’s amazing,” Gerber stressed.
He also said that he will inform his board back in Guam about the developments at the DMIA during their Board meeting and will present to them footages of the developments at DMIA.
